Our story begins - as so many stories do - in the Probing Chamber.
This was my first attempt at trying to make up some map graphics that didn’t look like a ZX81 on a bad day.
There’ll be a lot more tweaking, I’m sure. And there’ll be some sprite effects and animations at the business end of the probe-o-tron to provide some much needed gravitas. But for now I’m happy enough with it.
I wouldn’t expect the rest of the map to have this kind of detail. This room is already over my per-room budget for compressed map data, so only a few key rooms will be like this. The rest of the rooms will likely have more modest decoration. They can’t all be Probing Chambers.
